- Son of Duncan: Donalbain
Duncan's youngest son is Donaldbain. He disappears with his brother Malcolm after the murder of their father in Act II, Scene II (for which they are falsely implicated), Donaldbain is not seen again for the rest of the play.
- Fleance
Act II, Banquo's son is named Fleance. His first appearance is in Act II, Scene I, when he arrives with his father at the castle of Macbeth. Fleance is seen by Macbeth as a threat to the throne and so Macbeth attempts to kill him, however, the boy escapes to one day take the throne.
- Hecate
Three witches appear in the play. The scene with Hecate (the goddess of witches) is thought to have been written by another author and is most often cut from performances of the play. Similarly, the few lines in Act IV scene i that include Hecate are usually cut (Thomas Middleton may have been writer as his play features witches thus being called 'The Witches').
